Terms & Conditions

Welcome to Music with Manny! These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our services for all students. By booking and attending your child’s first official paid lesson, you automatically agree to these Terms.

 

1. General Conditions

1.1. You confirm you are at least 18 years old and are the legal parent or guardian of the student.
1.2. Lessons are provided for lawful and educational purposes only.
1.3. We reserve the right to refuse service for any reason at any time.
1.4. Video Recording: For safety and quality assurance, all lessons are video recorded. These recordings are securely stored and used internally only, or if disclosure is required by law.

 

2. Booking and Payment

2.1. Lessons must be booked in advance through our website or by direct contact.
2.2. Payment Method: All payments are taken via direct debit on the 1st of each month. Payment details must be set up in advance to secure your child’s place.
2.3. Monthly payments cover that month’s allocated lessons. Missed lessons without proper cancellation notice will not be refunded or rolled over.
2.4. Missed or Late Payments: If a payment is missed, lessons will be immediately paused until the outstanding balance is received. Music with Manny does not cover or replace lessons missed due to late payment.
2.5. No Partial Refunds: If you only attend part of your lessons in a given month, no partial refunds will be issued. Monthly fees secure your slot for that period regardless of attendance.
2.6. You are responsible for ensuring sufficient funds are available in your account on the 1st of each month.
2.7. By booking your child’s first official paid lesson, you confirm that you have read and agreed to these Terms.

3. Joining Fee

3.1. A one-off joining fee of £25 is payable by all new students upon booking their first official paid lesson.
3.2. The joining fee is non-refundable, even if lessons are cancelled or the student decides not to continue.
3.3. If a student leaves Music with Manny and later returns, the joining fee must be paid again upon re-enrolment.

 

4. Instrument Hire

4.1. Eligibility: Instrument hire is available exclusively for new and current students of Music with Manny.
4.2. Agreement: Parents/guardians must sign an Instrument Rental Agreement before any instrument is provided. By signing, you agree to provide necessary personal details, including photo ID and proof of address, for the duration of the hire.
4.3. Payment & Deposits: Monthly hire fees and a refundable damage deposit are required. Payments are taken via direct debit or agreed method. The deposit is refundable upon return of the instrument in good condition.
4.4. Responsibility for Instrument: You are responsible for the safe use and storage of the instrument while it is on hire. Any damage, loss, or misuse may result in deductions from the deposit or additional charges.
4.5. Return of Instrument: Instruments must be returned promptly if lessons are terminated, or if the student no longer requires the hire. Failure to return the instrument may result in additional charges.
4.6. Changes & Termination: Music with Manny reserves the right to terminate instrument hire at any time for breach of terms, non-payment, or misuse.

4. Cancellation, Rescheduling & Lateness

3.1. You may cancel or reschedule a lesson up to 3 hours in advance. Please contact us via email, phone or the website form.
3.2. Missed or cancelled lessons without the required notice will not be refunded or rescheduled.
3.3. If we need to reschedule a session for any reason, an alternative date will be offered.

3.4. Music With Manny hold the right to terminate any student(s) at anytime without a refund. The parent/guardian is responsible for reading and understanding our terms & conditions. 
3.5. Student Reschedules: A maximum of two reschedules per month is allowed. This is due to how monthly payments are structured and allocated. If more than two lessons are rescheduled in a given month, we may not be able to offer a makeup session, and the lesson may be forfeited. While we recognise that unexpected situations can happen, any exceptions to this policy will be considered on a case-by-case basis and are not guaranteed. Advance notice is required in order to be considered for flexibility.
3.6. Lateness Policy: If your child arrives late, the session will still end at the scheduled time. Lessons will not be extended, and the full fee will still apply. Classes will automatically be cancelled if the students more than 15 minutes late.

 

5. Holiday Policy

4.1. Planned Holidays by the Student or Parent: If you plan to be away and unable to attend lessons due to a holiday, we kindly ask for at least one month’s notice in writing (via email, text or WhatsApp) to allow time to adjust schedules accordingly.
4.2. Direct Debit payments will continue as normal to secure your child’s place unless prior notice is given.
4.3. If notice is provided one month in advance, you may:

  • Reschedule the missed lessons within the same calendar month (subject to availability), or

  • Request to pause Direct Debit for one month if you will be away for the full month, and no lessons will be taken.
    4.4. If less than one month’s notice is given, lessons will be marked as missed and are non-refundable and non-reschedulable.
    4.5. Long-Term Absence (Over One Month): For long-term absences (more than one month), we may offer to temporarily release your slot. However, we cannot guarantee the same day/time will be available upon your return.

 

6. Class Format, Safety & Responsibility

5.1. Lessons may be conducted online (Zoom, Skype, etc.) or in person, depending on availability and your preference.
5.2. Parents are responsible for ensuring their child has access to the required equipment and a reliable internet connection for online lessons.
5.3. Parental Supervision: For children under 12, a parent or guardian must attend the first lesson, or longer if requested.
5.4. Responsibility for Damage: If a child misbehaves or causes damage to equipment during an in-person session, the parent/guardian is responsible for the cost of repair or replacement.
5.5. Waiting Outside Policy: Children must not arrive significantly early to lessons unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. If a child arrives early without a parent, they must wait outside until their scheduled lesson start time. Likewise, once a lesson finishes, children must wait outside for their parent/guardian or transport to collect them. Due to lessons taking place in a private family residence, children cannot wait inside before or after lessons.
5.6. No Responsibility Outside Teaching Space: Music with Manny and its team are not responsible for the safety or wellbeing of students outside the teaching space. This includes, but is not limited to, waiting outside before or after lessons, bullying, accidents, or any incidents that occur off the teaching premises (e.g., while waiting for a cab). Parents/guardians remain fully responsible during these times.

 

7. Age & Conduct Requirements

6.1. Students must be aged 5 or older.
6.2. Respectful behavior is expected from all students. Repeated inappropriate behavior may result in lessons being paused or discontinued. No refunds will be issued if lessons are terminated due to bad behaviour.
6.3. Parents/guardians are expected to support punctuality, preparation, and respectful participation.

 

8. Intellectual Property

7.1. All lesson content, resources, and teaching materials are the intellectual property of Music with Manny.
7.2. These materials are for personal use only and must not be copied, shared, or redistributed without prior written permission.

 

9. Liability

8.1. We provide a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment, though outcomes may vary depending on the student's effort and practice.
8.2. Music with Manny is not liable for technical issues on your end, including device problems or poor internet connection.
8.3. We are not responsible for any incidental or consequential losses resulting from participation in lessons.

 

10. Privacy Policy

9.1. We respect your and your child’s privacy. Please refer to our [Privacy Policy] for how your data is collected, used, and protected.
9.2. By using our services, you consent to the data practices outlined in the Privacy Policy.

 

11. Changes to Terms

10.1. These Terms may be updated occasionally. Changes will be posted on this page.
10.2. Continued use of our Service after updates means you accept the new Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom (England). Any legal disputes will be resolved through the courts of England.
